The pictures you will see are mostly those I have taken since March of 2015. During this time I have joined a couple of social networks for serious and professional photographers. In those networks, my shots have generated well over one hundred thousand views. From these sites I have learned which of my shots are the most popular among other photographers and that has helped understand my strengths and my differences from other landscape photographers. I guess the simplest way to describe this difference is that I focus more on the mountain than the landscape. I hope you enjoy seeing my photos and let me know if you have any questions.
And now for a little personal history.
I started taking photos at almost 6 years old with a small Kodak camera with a cassette for the film. I remember one of the photos in particular. My family was in Puerto Rico and were visiting the old Spanish fort, Castillo San Cristobal in Old San Juan. We were looking at the impressive stone walls of the fort and I took a shot of the wall to show its height and length. Now I can look back and say that I have always wanted to take shots of vertical landforms, such as mountains, canyons, and coastlines. In March of 2015, I decided to give landscape photography a serious try. So far it is the most fun work I have ever done. I used to teach at Colorado State University and that was the most rewarding work I have done but not as much fun.
